Anniversary Cup - 11 October 2026 - Gramacho

It was our pleasure to organise this year's Anniversary Cup, celebrating our 40th wedding anniversaries.

There were 72 participants who were invited to the first tee with a Happy Anniversary tune reminding them about the occasion.

They were offered drinks and bites from our home countries at the half-way house. Evidence that the competition was being taken seriously was that only few players accepted an alcoholic beverage at the turn.

At the end of their round, Pestana staff served the participants snacks which were enjoyed by all.

Upbeat music arranged by Gavin Mortimer introduced the organising couples at the prize giving.

The winning couples were:

Nearest to the pin: Lorry Dearden (4th) and Brenda Manley (10th)

1st: John & Elaine Marshall (49 points)

2nd: Bryan Gelling and Lisa Henderson (48 on countback)

3rd: Paul Daly & Olwyn Simpson (48)

4th: David & Dorothy Lyttle (48)

Thanks for the many compliments that we have received.

We enjoyed the day as much as you did.

Thanks to the Pestana staff for giving us such a good service.

Thanks also to Jean Pledge who helped us with the draw.
